World Day of Prayer

World Day of Prayer - Friday 5th March 2021

Prepared by the Christian women of Vanuatu on the theme ‘Build on a Strong Foundation.’

Due to the pandemic, it is not possible to hold a World Day of Prayer (WDP) service in church.

However, it will be possible to watch a service. The World Day of Prayer International Committee (WDPIC) recorded a video of the worship service led by the WDP Vanuatu Committee and the WDPIC Executive Committee, with greetings from several WDP Committees.

The video has been released to WDP National Committees, and posted on the WDPIC YouTube channel at the link:

Alternatively, visit the World Day of Prayer website, by the first Friday of March, where there is a link on their Homepage:

Homepage | World Day Of Prayer (wwdp.org.uk). The service in the video is in English.

In addition, two Lincoln WDP church groups have organised Zoom services, which are open to all. One will take place at 10:30am on 5th March and the other at 3:30pm. If anyone would like to attend one of these services here are the details of whom to email for the Zoom link:

10:30am Zoom Service: Angela [email protected]

3:30pm Zoom Service: Anne [email protected]

As always, the World Day of Prayer Movement is dependent upon donations from those attending services, to support Christian charities around the world, but for safety reasons churches should not accept cash donations. Therefore, we are asked to consider the alternative ways of making our offerings as follows:

  1. Cheque: made out to ‘World Day of Prayer’ and sent to World Day of Prayer, Commercial Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN1 2RR If you wish to Gift Aid, please complete the back of the brown envelope included in the Service Booklet (see below) and send it with your cheque.
  2. Donating on-line: (minimum of £10) through their website: https://www.wwdp.org.uk/
  3. By text message:  Text 2021WDP 5 to 70085 to donate £5. You can donate up to £40 this way.

If you would like a service booklet (including the brown Gift Aid envelope) or an electronic Word Document copy of the service or any other information. Please contact Yvonne Puncher on 856568.
